University Gardens I
University Gardens I, is an independent Affordable Senior Living Community, located at 440 University Boulevard East, Silver Spring, Maryland. Developed in 1991 in accordance with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Section 202/8 Housing Programs.
University Gardens I is a 4-story mid-rise building with sixty-four revenue units consisting of sixteen efficiencies and forty-eight one-bedroom units. The facility accommodates elderly 62 years and older and persons with mobility, hearing, and visual impairments.
Income Eligibility
Housing at University Gardens I is intended for low income elderly persons. To qualify, household income cannot exceed HUD income guidelines. Under this HUD program residents pay 30% of their adjusted household income.
Age Eligibility
An applicant must be 62 years old or older at the time of application to apply at University Gardens I. Also, persons in need of mobility, hearing and visual accommodation are eligible to apply.
